Sources of Law in Ghana
Article 11 of the 1992 Ghana Constitution states that the laws of Ghana shall comprise:
[The Constitution];
Enactments made by or under the authority of the Parliament established by the Constitution [or legislation];
Any Orders, Rules and Regulations made by any person or authority under a power conferred by this Constitution [or subsidiary or subordinate legislation];
The existing law or the written and unwritten laws of Ghana that existed immediately before the coming into force of the 1992 Constitution]; and
The common law [or the English common law, English doctrines of equity, and the rules of customary law];
The Criminal and Civil Law Internship Program in Ghana is one of the most highly recognized legal internship opportunities in Africa. It has been described as one of the finest pre-law experiences available and has been consistently ranked as one of the most hands-on internship programs. The interns are assigned to either one or two attorneys in the trial division for whom they are to complete all investigative aspects of the assigned cases.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE LAW FIRM
* To provide the student with a variety of activities to maximize their experience with the firm.

To provide the student with training commensurate with the tasks that they are asked to perform.
* For purposes of school credit, the firm will sign a report the faculty supervisor to inform him/her about the student’s progress.

To fill out the firm evaluation form at the end of the student’s tenure.
STUDENT’S RESPONSIBILITIES
* To develop a work schedule with the firm and meet that schedule responsibly.
*
To perform tasks that they are given to the best of their capabilities.
*To keep a daily log of their activities and to write a note summarizing their work experience at the end of their tenure.
*
For school credit purposes the student will have to contact the faculty supervisor periodically to report their progress.
* Generally assisting the assigned attorney(s) in and out of court. Etc etc.
What kind of skills you need to go on this type of project:
General Requirements: Law interns need to be either currently studying or practicing in the law field. Excellent communication and written skill in English language.
